Home EV charging, planned around your property and routine

Thinking about an electric vehicle but unsure which charger is right for your home?
We look at where you park, your existing electrical installation and how you expect to charge. We’ll recommend a practical setup and keep everything clear from the first assessment to testing and handover.

With Millpond Electrical you don’t need to source multiple trades, we will handle the EV application, groundworks, installation, supply and handover.

Is Your Home Suitable for an EV Charger?

Many homes with off-street parking are suitable for an EV charger, but every property needs to be assessed properly. Before recommending a charger, we consider:

We’ll explain what is possible, whether any electrical upgrades are needed and where the charger would be best positioned.

Choosing the Right EV Charger

A dedicated home charger is designed for regular vehicle charging and is usually faster and more convenient than using a standard three-pin socket.  Smart chargers can schedule charging around your routine, help you make use of off-peak tariffs and let you monitor charging through an app. Compatible chargers may also help you make better use of electricity generated by solar panels. We’ll explain the options clearly and recommend a charger that suits your vehicle, property and budget. No unnecessary extras. Just a reliable setup that works for your home.

Safe, Professional Installation

An EV charger adds a significant electrical load, so the installation needs to be designed and protected properly. When installing an EV charger you need to apply for permission from the DNO (District Network Operator). At Millpond Electrical we handle this entire process for you, and keep you updated as it progresses.

We’ll check your electrical supply, consumer unit, earthing arrangements and proposed cable route before work begins.

Your charger will be installed neatly, tested thoroughly and set up with you before we leave. You’ll receive the relevant electrical certification and a clear explanation of how to use your charger.
